Focal Plane DTA12 PLEIADES

Pleiades

An increased on-ground resolution is the aim of the next observation satellite generation, PLEIADES, to be flown in 2008/2009.
Therefore, a new focal plane has been designed, featuring new technologies : TDI (Time Delay Integration) detectors, strip filters, SiC (Silicon Carbide) structures and mirrors, etc…

Performances offered by this equipment are:

  • detection in panchromatic and 4 spectral bands,
  • resolution of 30,000 pixels in panchromatic mode (PAN),
  • resolution of 7,500 pixels in colour mode (XS).

Pleiades

One of the key features of this focal plane is to operate 10 large CCD detectors at a high frequency and in a very compact volume, while dealing with substantial thermal power.

Qualification of this focal plane was obtained in 2007.
