IASI
A thermal Infrared camera (CIM01), based upon an uncooled micro-bolometer array, has been developed and is now qualified and integrated inside the IASI sounder that will fly aboard the Eumetsat MétOp satellites from 2006.
Infrared imager, microbolometerThis uncooled technology allows the camera to feature very beneficial characteristics in terms of mass, power, volume and cost compared to traditional cooled cameras.
Easy adaptation for other applications is possible because of its modular design.
