Sodern at the core of France’s new space defense strategy.

On July 25th, French Minister of the Armed Forces Florence Parly outlined the new national strategy for space defense at air-force base 942 in Lyon.
Sodern was quoted in her speech as one of the leading companies the government will be relying on to implement its strategy : “ [besides Airbus and Thales] we are fortunate to be able to rely on companies such as Hemeria, Sodern and many others”, she said, “I am counting on you”.
At the Paris Air Show 2019 in June, Sodern coordinated a booth dedicated to space security which brought together several key European actors: ArianeGroup, ONERA, Thales Alenia Space and Sodern, each presenting Space Situational Awareness (SSA) and Space Monitoring and Tracking (SST) projects.
In particular, Sodern presented LEO and GEO intruder detectors to ensure security in space by detecting artifacts in a satellite’s environment.
Several highlights marked our presence at the show, including official visits by high-ranking European military and government officials.
