The Auriga Stand-Alone (SA) star tracker is now flight proven!

The Auriga SA star tracker has successfully demonstrated nominal performance in orbit.

The Auriga is Sodern’s newest addition to its star tracker portfolio and was innovated specifically for small satellite and constellation applications. Two versions now exist including the Auriga CP, which embeds its processing algorithms aboard the satellite’s OBC, and the Auriga SA, which includes a modular electronic unit to host this software.

Auriga CP has been chosen by several customers, including OneWeb which already has 148 optical heads in service with the inaugural set operating nominally since February 2019.

Auriga SA achieved flight heritage soon thereafter aboard the ANGELS nanosatellite launched in December 2019. ANGELS was supported by CNES and built by Hemeria as a demonstrator for the future “KINEIS” Internet of Things (IoT) constellation. This successful In-Orbit-Demonstration directly translated to the recent order of 27 flight sets for the KINEIS constellation, which is scheduled for launch in 2023.
